Now that you’ve got your appt scheduled – what’s next?! First, GET STOKED. Second, read what to do before, during, & after your Dysport or Jeuveau injections, below!

• Don’t wait right before an important event to get botox – give it 2+ weeks to settle before the big day
• avoid NSAIDs 5-10 days prior to appt
• avoid alcohol 3-5 days prior to appt
• Stop any supplements that can thin the blood (Vitamin E, ginseng, turmeric, St. John’s Wort, Ginkgo, Evening primrose oil, Garlic supplements, Feverfew)
• Do NOT stop any prescribed blood thinners without consulting with your PCP/prescribing provider (Including aspirin, Plavix, Eliquis, Coumadin/warfarin, Aggrenox, Effient, Brilinta, Savaysa, or Xarelto)
• Do notify Tara if you take these above-prescribed meds
• Contact your injector to start an antiviral med if you have a history of cold sores (if a lip flip is going to be performed)
• Sign your consent online
• Arrive without makeup if possible or be prepared to have it removed in sites of injections at appt

During

• tell your injector your goals, history of previous issues
• make all the silly faces Tara asks for – it helps her see the best places to inject!
• point out any asymmetries you’ve noticed before the injections (like one eyebrow always rests higher than the other)
• breathe & relax – you’re in great hands!

After

• Leave the injection sites (aka, “mosquito bites”) alone
• Don’t plan on anything that will manipulate the skin/tissue of the face like a massage (lying face down), facial, etc. for 2 weeks
• Remain upright for 4 hours
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 8 hours (light exercise is fine)
• Avoid hats on your head that could rest in the area of injection for 24+ hours
• Avoid sunglasses & eyeglasses for 24+ hours if your bunny lines are injected
• Be gentle with washing your face the evening of the procedure
• Start noticing improvements within 2-3 days!
